In January 2024, my father (John Erving Faulls, 1946-2024) passed away unexpectedly. I turned to creativity and art for the grieving process. To remember my father, I CAD’d out 9 objects that were emblematic of him / or my memories of him: Coors can, tractor tire, Daisy BB gun, road sign, cherry peppers, broken telephone, fishing lure worm, DIY sandblaster, chainsaw.
In addition to the brass objects, I also designed and fabricated the patina’d box and the display trays.
I’m in the process of giving away the objects to the people who knew and loved my father: Grief is loss.
